Recently in Edmonton, a statue was stolen from the front landing of a local residence. The surveillance video was posted to Facebook and pretty much got spread like wildfire from there. Boasting over 95,000 views to date, it’s not surprising that the Edmonton Police were able to nab a suspect in the stolen statue dilemma.
“Barnes’ wife put missing posters around the neighbourhood, and his neighbours helped him post the surveillance footage to Facebook. Since it went public on Sunday, the clip has been viewed more than 57,000 times, and garnered dozens of tips from armchair sleuths and concerned citizens.”
