When you work in digital marketing, it’s no surprise that what you learned yesterday is not applicable today or a week from now. Digital marketing moves so fast, it’s important to keep up with your skills and invest in your learning. Some easy ways you can do this include reading blogs by leaders in the industry, listening to related podcasts, taking online courses (ensure they’re updated regularly), and by attending industry events.
Each year, three conferences in Western Canada stand out as “must attend” for social media professionals. And no, not just because I’m speaking at all three, I’d go either way!
This year I’m stoked to announce that I’ll be presenting at three social media conferences in Western Canada. From the local, iMEDIA Conference in Edmonton, Social Media Camp in Victoria, the largest social media conference in Canada, and Social West in Calgary, the largest digital marketing conference in the prairies, I’m pretty excited to be speaking and attending!
iMEDIA Social Media Conference, March 10-11, 2017
I spoke at this conference last year and was invited back as a crowd favourite. Check out this conference if you work in social media marketing or digital marketing in Edmonton. It’s great to see what others in the field locally and in North America are doing and to learn “no fluff, no BS” tactics to implement.

Social Media Camp – May 3-4, 2017
Taking place in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia, Social Media Camp is the largest social media marketing conference in Western Canada. In their 8th year, you can expect to learn about all aspects of social media, from podcasts to influencer marketing, there’s something for everyone.
I’ll be talking about Social Media Crisis Management because you can’t call 911 during a social media crisis.

Social West – June 14-16
Social West is known as the largest social media and digital marketing conference on the prairies. This year’s conference will be in Calgary, Alberta, featuring more than 30 speakers and experts from across Canada. Make sure you bring something to take notes with, last year I learned SO much that I could implement immediately with our clients!
